If you’re a fan of Lee Min-ho or just looking for some great K-Dramas to watch, be sure to check out this list of the top 5 Lee Min-ho dramas that you need to add to your watch list.
Lee Min Ho is a Korean actor and one of the most notable entertainers in the world. He has numerous accomplishments and notable performances to his name. His performances range from proud and solemn characters to bubbly and zealous characters. He is particularly known for playing handsome, rich and sometimes misunderstood male leads.
From romantic comedies to action-packed thrillers, these dramas showcase Lee Min-ho’s versatility as an actor and will have you hooked from start to finish. Here are five top Lee Min-ho dramas that you won’t want to miss.
City Hunter
This drama features Lee Min-ho’s action star skills, including car chases, hand-to-hand combat, and gun fights. His portrayal of the character, Lee Yun-seong, makes the audience root for him and also feel sympathy for him in certain moments.
Lee Yun-seong is taken from his mother at a young age and raised by a man who has revenge on his mind, but needs Lee Yun-seong to complete his goal. Lee Yun-seong eventually follows this agenda and goes undercover at the Blue House to exact revenge against those who killed his father. He becomes a notable vigilante known as “City Hunter” while attempting to take down his father’s enemies. Along the way, he meets Kim Nana (Park Min-young), who causes him to question his actions and brings a positive and humorous light to his otherwise grim journey.
Legend of the blue sea
If you love a quirky and romantic storyline, this is the drama for you. Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min-ho) is a con artist who unexpectedly encounters a strange woman, Shim Cheong (Jun Ji-hyun), whom he ends up feeling responsible for. As they get acquainted, they quickly develop feelings for each other. It turns out that she is a mermaid who has come looking for her perfect mate. They must now work together to protect each other from those who would exploit this knowledge, which also requires them to solve mysteries from their past lives. Lee Min-Ho’s performance in this drama is excellent, and his chemistry with the lead actress, Jun Ji-hyun, is undeniable.
Heirs
This is a classic high school K-drama in which Lee Min-ho plays one of his most prominent roles.
Kim Tan ( Lee Min-ho) is a rich kid from an eccentric family who lives alone in California. He meets Cha-Eun Sang (Park Shin-hye) and becomes interested in her. Cha-Eun Sang comes from a less privileged background and is only visiting California. Later, Kim Tan moves back to Korea, and both of them end up attending the same high school. Kim Tan is popular in school, but not really for the best reasons. Cha-Eun Sang also becomes popular unintentionally and has to deal with all that comes with it. This is a classic rich-boy-poor-girl story that sometimes makes you cringe but makes up for it by delivering other sweet, funny and romantic scenes.
Pachinko
Did someone say range??? In Pachinko, Lee Min-ho plays a completely different character from his usual portrayals. The level of emotion and anger he portrayed is impressive to say the least. This drama has a great cast overall and is a good watch for someone who wants a break from the usual K-drama cliches.
Pachinko tells the story of a Korean family that emigrates to Japan in the early 1900s. The series follows the family’s struggles and triumphs as they navigate their new lives in a foreign country, dealing with issues of race, identity, and discrimination. The story follows the lives of the couple’s children and grandchildren, who also face challenges as they try to find their place in the world.
Lee Min-ho’s character, Koh Hansu, is a wealthy and powerful figure in Japan (originally from Korea) who becomes involved with a young Korean woman named Sunja (Kim Min-ha). Hansu is a complex character who is driven by his ambition and desire for success, but also has a troubled past, which prompts him to make questionable decisions.
Faith
This K-drama is my favourite in terms of the portrayal of romance and the chemistry between the main characters.
Captain Choi Young, played by Lee Min-ho, of the royal guards is tasked by his king with finding “Heaven’s doctor”, a doctor who can heal the injured queen. He travels to another world and forcibly brings Yoo Eun-soo (Kim Hee-sun) to his world. Despite their rocky start, the two come to rely on each other as they face numerous adventures and dangers in this new world. The amazing storyline and compelling characters in this drama will keep you on your toes.
These five dramas helped solidify my admiration and low key obsession with Lee Min-ho and K-Dramas in general. Other great Lee Min-ho dramas include The King: Eternal Monarch, Boys Over Flowers, and Personal Taste. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Lee Min-ho or just getting into K-dramas, there’s sure to be something on this list for you.
