How to start
Select (or create) a list section and click on New Reminder. Note down your task and either leave it as is or schedule a time to be notified.
You could also create a new reminder by selecting New Reminder at the bottom left of the reminder app.
For scheduling, click the info (“i”) button on the note and select a date and time by enabling the Date toggle and selecting a date from the calendar and enabling the Time toggle and selecting a time to be notified.
To finish, click Done at the top right of the screen. You’ve now officially scheduled a task!
To complete a task, select the circle next to the task and it will be marked/removed as completed.
Repeat
Some tasks work on a repeated schedule and it would be tedious to continuously enter it.
You could set a repeat frequency for your reminder by clicking the info (“i”) button on the note, selecting Repeat and choosing how often you want that task to be scheduled (daily, monthly, yearly, etc).
After selecting a repeat value, the End Repeat option will show up and allow you to select when you want the recurring reminders to end.
Click Done once finished and you’re good to go.
And even after you’ve completed/selected a task, the task automatically gets rescheduled for whenever it’s due next.
Location
Reminders can also be set up to notify you when leaving or arriving at certain locations.
Location can be set by clicking the info (“i”) button on the note, enabling the toggle next to Location.
Click on one of the suggested locations or click Custom to add a specific location. Enter your location information and choose whether to be alerted when Leaving or when Arriving at the location.
Click Done once finished and you’re all set!
Priority
Tasks can be prioritized by clicking the info (“i”) button on the note, and selecting a priority from the given options (Low, Medium, High).
Click Done once finished. When you view the task on the list, the number of exclamations (“!”) in front of a task shows the priority that’s assigned. This helps certain tasks to stand out on the list.
Priority is also used as a criteria for sorting lists.
Sorting
Lists can be sorted in any preferred order. You could sort by due date, creation date, priority or title.
You can also choose the order in which items are listed;
For Due Date, you can sort by Earliest First or Latest First. For Creation Date, you can choose Oldest First or Newest First. When it comes to Priority, you can sort by Highest First or Lowest First. For Title, you can sort in ascending or descending order based on alphanumeric sequence.
Lists can be sorted by clicking the ellipsis (“…”) button for the top right of the list, and then selecting a sorting preference.
Separation of lists
You can create numerous lists and assign different tasks under them. Creating separate lists based on different subjects is a great way to organize and use the app efficiently.
Lists can be added by selecting Add List at the bottom right on the Reminders app and then typing in a new name for the list. Click Done once finished.
You can now view your created list in its designated section.
So there you have it! Scheduling on the Reminders app is a breeze. Give it a try and let us know how it goes! Share your tips and tricks for using this helpful tool in the comments below.
